She Weeps

The Purple Treehouse, http://purpletreehouse.blogspot.com/2011/07/poetic-forms-classic-haiku.html, is a new site for posting haiku. I thought haiku was something one did to kill time while they had writers’ block, until several months ago. I was studying several forms of poetry and haiku was nestled there among them. I started reading and found myself fascinated in the creativity and depth represented in these tiny poems. I believe this is the first one I’ve written since then. Once, I didn’t care, now I’m not worthy.

What I like in this one, is how a simple flower is contrasted with the royalty of the queen bee. The dichotomy strengthens the words. Well done.
