The NaPoWriMo prompt for day 18 is to write an incantatory color poem. Well, I don’t know much about incantations, but what the heck.

I spilled a can of bright green paint
on a cranky, old crone’s green blouse.
Her face turned green as she looked my way,
and through green teeth she said:

A green hex I lay on you,
A curse, a pox, a potion of green
to color your whole world.
This spell of green will give you warts
and turn your skin pea green.
Green mold will grow over your house.
green water will flow from the spout.
If you don’t want to live in a green hell forever,
you better start watching out.

    Boy, she was crabby!

I enjoyed this. It’s a bad prompt, I think, but you got something good out of it.

You’ve done a superb job of writing to the color green which lends itself to the prompt so well!
